OPUS' FRIENDS!

She was the last of the ferals and outwitted me for nearly 3 years (and 3 litters of kittens, countless bloody battles that she always won, escaping from traps and carriers alike, etc.), but patience, persistence, then grand impatience (finally just picking her up by the scruff of her neck and shoving her into the kennel last night, somehow without getting torn to shreds) paid off. :) I'm so glad she'll never become skeletal while feeding kittens again... and she's really a sweet little thing, just timid as all hell, so hoping once the hormones are out of her system, she'll feel less scared all the time. What are the chances of that? Fluff, my formerly alpha tomcat, tolerates my cuddling fairly well, but is still alpha... and therefore, grumpy and does not like to be picked up, but I can handle him safely, as I know his warnings. Sleepyeyes, before fixing, would come up to me for scritchies and even rub up against my legs, but just had the 'fraidy cat issue. I was thinking it was more because of her getting pinned down by so many tomcats whenever she went into heat (which she was today, so whew, got her just in time).... other than that, I think she'd be just about the perfect lap cat, she's very affectionate and loves attention. /crossing fingers

You just know you have gotten a malnourished cat past being malnourished when he turns his nose up something he normally would eat (and still does when the mood hits him).

This is Tori's first winter as an indoor/outdoor cat. She is getting a little used to the snow.. but she still isn't happy about it!

Put seed out. Mostly been chickadees and squirrels so far. Was making the bed and Conner plopped down before I could manage to get the pillows on. He's watching them eat breakfast.

I find it hilarious when she turns her ears back like that! XD

Has anyone's cat ever had to have surgery to remove an eye? I ask because my boy Apollo's damaged eye seems to be more swollen than it used to be and I am just wondering. I already have an appointment for him to get a check up when my next paycheck comes in but for now I'm just searching for a price estimate.

and I'm glad I did! Look what I caught on film!!! Donut & Cool Whip groom eachother (mostly Cool Whip grooming Donut, while Q-Tip lays on the floor in the background)!!!!

I had to keep a good distance away...if they saw me getting closer they'd most definitely stop the cuteness. I gradually inched forward but when I got too close they caught on and ended the cleaning fest. It was cute while it lasted :)

This picture was taken around Halloween (2009) right after we found out what was causing Moe's weight loss. Seriously. This is small for my cat.

(She had ear mites, but also had an allergy to the ear mite medicine and wasn't getting better. Once her vet changed the medicine, there was almost a 100% improvement!)

Quint realizes that people out there might have a hard day at work, or home, or wherever...so he's selflessly offering up his neck fur for smooches and snuggles.
